Bloom

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 13, 2026 · Last updated: July 13, 2026

Bloom ("Bloom," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Juniper House, LLC, a South Dakota limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information Bloom collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Bloom mobile application and the juniperhouse.io website.

Bloom is currently offered to users in the United States only.

Bloom is a companion for the family journey — from before conception through early childhood. Because that journey involves some of the most sensitive information a person can share, we have built Bloom around a simple commitment: your story belongs to you. This policy describes, in concrete terms, how we keep that commitment.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use Bloom.

1. Our core privacy commitments

These are binding commitments, and our systems are built to make them true:

  • We do not sell your personal information. Ever. Not to data brokers, advertisers, or anyone.
  • We show no advertising and share no information with advertisers or ad networks.
  • We use no affiliate or commission-based commerce. When you buy from Bloom, the relationship is between you and Bloom — not a brand paying for placement.
  • We do not monetize your data. We never analyze or share your fertility, pregnancy, or family information to make money from it.
  • We use no third-party analytics or tracking. Bloom contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or behavioral-tracking software. The only diagnostic information available to us is Apple's standard, device-level, opt-in crash reporting, which you control in your device settings.
  • We minimize the most sensitive data by design. Your most sensitive body-signal data — the raw wrist-temperature readings used for cycle insight — is processed entirely on your device and never reaches our servers, and your reproductive data is kept private to you (see Sections 5 and 6).

2. Information we collect

a. Information you provide directly

b. Information collected from Apple Health (HealthKit), with your permission

If you connect Apple Health, Bloom reads the following data types with your explicit permission, which you can revoke at any time in Settings. Bloom requests read-only access and never writes any data back to Apple Health:

We describe our specific handling of Apple Health data in Section 7. Note that Bloom handles two temperature types differently: your sleeping wrist temperature is used only on your device and is never sent to our servers, while basal body temperature you record is stored on our servers as part of your private cycle data (see Section 5).

c. Information collected automatically

We do not collect precise location, and we do not access your contacts. We access your camera, microphone, and photo library only to capture or add the specific photos and voice notes you choose to include in a memory.

3. How we use your information

We use your information only to:

We do not use your information for advertising, sale, or profiling for any purpose other than operating the features you use.

4. Notifications

If you enable notifications, Bloom may send you notifications related to your journey and the features you use — for example, gentle reminders and observations connected to your cycle tracking, memory-keeping, or journey stage.

You are always in control of notifications. You can turn off all Bloom notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Bloom, and Bloom also provides in-app notification preferences for most reminder types. Notifications that draw on your cycle tracking are sent only if you track your cycle and have enabled notifications.

We do not use notifications to manipulate engagement — no streaks, no guilt-based reminders, no dark patterns. We send notifications only to be genuinely useful to you.

5. Where your data lives — on-device vs. our servers

Bloom treats different kinds of data differently:

6. How we share information

We share your information only in the limited ways below. We never sell it and never share it for advertising.

We do not share your information with data brokers or advertisers under any circumstances.

7. Apple Health (HealthKit) data — specific terms

Where you grant permission, Bloom reads certain Apple Health data to power cycle and journey features. In accordance with Apple's requirements:

You can review or revoke Bloom's access in the iOS Health app or Settings at any time. Revoking access stops future reading. Information Bloom already read and stored as part of your records remains in Bloom unless you delete your data or account (see Sections 9 and 11); deleting data in Apple Health does not by itself remove Bloom's stored copy.

8. Children's information

Bloom is intended for adults — parents and prospective parents. You must be at least 18 to use Bloom, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account.

Bloom lets you, as a parent, record information about your own child (such as a baby's name, birth details, photos, and milestones). This is content you create and control, handled under this Privacy Policy. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children, and we never use child-related information for advertising or profiling.

9. Data retention and deletion

Bloom is built around the idea that your archive is precious, so we do not delete your memories and journey on our own. But this is your data, and you can delete it.

You can delete your account and associated personal information from within the app. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information from our systems — including your memories, journey data, and your private reproductive and cycle data (cycle logs, body signals, cycle settings, and weight entries) — except limited records we are legally required or reasonably need to retain, such as transaction records for a keepsake order you placed. Those retained order records are stripped of directly identifying shipping details where possible and kept only as needed for tax, accounting, and dispute purposes.

We retain other information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and then delete or de-identify it. We store server data in the United States.

10. Security

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your information, including: encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) to our servers; storage of your authentication tokens in the device's secure keychain; server-side, row-level access controls that keep your private reproductive and cycle data readable only by you; and on-device processing of your most sensitive body signal (raw sleeping wrist temperature never leaves your device). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights:

To exercise any right, use the in-app controls where available, or contact privacy@juniperhouse.io. We will respond within the time required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

State-specific notices

Bloom is offered in the United States only. We do not currently target or offer the Service to users in the EU or UK.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes — for example, collecting a new category of data, adding a new company we share data with, or changing what a co-parent can see — we will provide notice in the app and update the "Last updated" date. Where a change materially affects sensitive data and the law requires it, we will obtain your consent. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where consent is required.
